Position: Technical Manager (Engineering)

Overall Role Summary:
Lead development and implementation of best-in-class processes and procedures related to moulding and assembly Operations.
Team with the production supervisors and plant manager to ensure that daily processes are established and followed to ensure that moulding and assembly output meets specifications for design and quality.
Teaming with the Quality Manager, be a key change agent for the adoption of lean manufacturing practices across the Operations, effectively supporting the General Manager and Plant Manager in the deployment of lean practices.
Manage local requirements for tooling maintenance and build for current product, in coordination with the Global Tooling Team.
Responsible for operations technical support, process engineering and product lifecycle management, which includes:
Agreement to product/process specifications
CAD
Testing
Tooling for moulding operations
Automation
Change management
Customer technical support / Liaison
Process and equipment productivity improvements
Cost reductions and Productivity improvement
Supplier management – moulds and assembly equipment
Ensure product quality meets customer specifications.
Identify and implement process improvement solutions in support Operations across all areas of the business – moulding, assembly, material handling, material flow, etc.
Lead plant New Product Introductions to support Flawless Launches.
Supervise and lead engineers and technicians to support Operations across all aspects of the business.
Serve as a key member of the Leadership Team for China Operations.
Serve as a key member of the Technical Extended Leadership Team for globally.
Support the business development team on customer visits, as requested.
Job Requirements:
There will be occasional travel within China, Asia, Europe and the United States.
There will be occasional work on multiple shifts to lead training, implementation of new processes and cost reductions as well as conference calls
Plastic injection moulding
Plastic injection tool design and build
Automated assembly operations
Success with identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement projects to drive cost reduction
Project management.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to liaise at all levels of the business.
Experience working in a high volume and high mix manufacturing environment.
8 years and above injection molding experience
Experience working with overseas suppliers
Lean/Six Sigma project leadership.
Lean/Six Sigma project implementation.
